The main difference between an informational news article and an opinion piece is that informational articles are based purely on facts*. However opinion pieces are based of self interpretations, and not on supportive evidence. Lastly the easiest way of telling apart both types of articles is by looking for references. If you find a lot of references most likely it is an informational article.
